Mid-Term Review

To review for the mid-term students must have a good knowledge of the following:

• The stories/poems of Edgar Allan Poe.

The Cask of Amontillado
The Tell-Tale Heart
The Raven
The Masque of the Red Death

Video clips of all of these can be found in my blog archive. You should have a good understanding of plot and the elements of gothic horror.

• The historical context of April Morning.

I have provided a review sheet for this which is set up as a mini webquest. To access it, students must click the "Review Sheet" link. Then click "The Context of April Morning". Students will be able to access the word document I have created, and type in the information they find from the web sites I have provided. The web sites can be accessed by holding "Ctrl" and clicking them or simply clicking them from my link list.

The exam will mirror the HSPA exam. Students are encouraged to bring any notes or review materials to the exam.

Students will also have to complete a reading comprehension section. This will be a random story that they must read and analyze. There will be multiple-choice and open-ended questions with it.
