We are currently working on an essay for Jake, Reinvented. We will do the majority of the writing in class but the students should have the essay completed by Friday. The students are also to read through chapter 13 of Jake, Reinvented by Friday as well.

One of the major themes presented in The Great Gatsby and Jake, Reinvented is-the past affecting characters’ actions in the present. In both works, the main character attempts to recreate the past. Using textual support, write an essay in which you examine the possibility of recreating the past. How do the authors present this idea? Is this something that can ever be truly done?
